PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance light emitting device having a uniform light emission distribution in the whole device by equalizing luminance distributions of a plurality of light emitting elements.SOLUTION: A light emitting device 10 comprises: a substrate; a first wiring electrode, a second wiring electrode and one or a plurality of connection electrodes 27 which are formed on a surface of the substrate; and a plurality of light emitting elements 30A, 30B, 30C, 30D electrically connected in series with each other via the connection electrodes. The plurality of light emitting elements have: holes 37H which pierce a second semiconductor layer and an active layer 33 from the second semiconductor layer 35 side to reach the inside of a first semiconductor layer 31; first electrodes which are insulated from the second semiconductor layer and the active layer and formed in contact with the first semiconductor layer exposed from bottoms of the holes; and second electrodes formed on a surface of the second semiconductor layer. An average depth of at least one hole gradually increases in series connection of the plurality of light emitting elements with the decreasing distance from the second wiring electrode. |
