<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent whose solution is excellent in storage stability and which enables a coating film excellent in strength to be formed, and to provide a coated article obtained by using the coating agent.SOLUTION: The coating agent containing a vinyl alcohol-based polymer (A) is provided in which a ratio (Mw(A)/Mn(A)) of a weight average molecular weight (Mw(A)) of the vinyl alcohol-based polymer (A) to a number average molecular weight (Mn(A)) thereof is 3 to 8, and in which a ratio (Mw(B)/Mn(B)) of a weight average molecular weight (Mw(B)) of a vinyl alcohol-based polymer (B) obtained by treating the vinyl alcohol-based polymer (A) in a sodium hydroxide solution at 40°C for 1 hour to a number average molecular weight (Mn(B)) thereof, is 2 or more and less than 3. It is preferred that the coating agent further contains a crosslinking agent (C).</p> |
