PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately set developing bias in developing methods of supplying a developer to a photoreceptor drum from a magnetic brush layer.SOLUTION: An image formation device comprises: a leak detection unit that causes an electric discharge to be generated between an image carrier and a developer carrier to detect a leak voltage at the time when the electric discharge is generated; and a bias control unit that controls developing bias upon forming an image and detecting the leak voltage. The leak detection unit is configured to detect the leak voltage in a blank part where an electrostatic latent image does not exist in the image carrier. The bias control unit, which controls a change of the developing bias on the basis of the leak voltage, is configured to determine an AC voltage VmagAC in accordance with the detected leak voltage, and change a frequency of the AC voltage VmagAC in accordance with the AC voltage VmagAC. |
