<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce maximum power while properly performing idle discharge from a nozzle used in printing.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording device comprises specification means and idle discharge control means. The specification means specifies nozzles necessary for printing out of a plurality of nozzles that each of a plurality of droplet discharge heads has, as an object for an idle discharge, from image data of a print object. When the number of nozzles specified by the specification means exceeds a threshold value, the idle discharge control means performs control to execute the idle discharge by dividing it into a plurality of times of the idle discharge so that the number of the nozzles which simultaneously execute the idle discharge cannot exceed the threshold value.</p> |
