The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for updating a firmware of a vehicle. The apparatus for updating a firmware of a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a communications unit which receives firmware data; a first storage unit which firstly stores new firmware data received by the communications unit, and outputs the firmware data to a second storage unit depending on an execution result of the new firmware based on the control of the control unit; the second storage unit which stores the firmware data stored in the first storage unit, according to the control of the control unit; and the control unit which detects the new firmware data received through the communications unit, stores the firmware data in the first storage unit, executes the stored firmware data, and stores the firmware data in the second storage unit depending on the execution result. |
