The present invention relates to a method for forming a groove of a headrest stay, which comprises: a first process for placing a headrest stay (4) on a bottom fixing plate (8); a second process for detecting the stay (4) by a sensing unit to create an automatic control signal; a third process for transmitting the automatic control signal to a control unit (20) to lower a pressurizing cylinder (22) and fixate the stay (4) by a fixing unit (6) made of the bottom fixing plate (8) and a top fixing plate (10); a fourth process for elevating a roller conveying cylinder (28) while fixating the stay (4); a fifth process for elevating a roller booth (36) with one or more rollers (34) installed whose diameter increases by stages due to the rise of the roller conveying cylinder (28) to form a groove on the stay (4); and a sixth process for lowering the roller booth (36) by the roller conveying cylinder (28) with an automatic operation control signal by a control unit (20) and elevating the top fixing plate (10) by the pressurizing cylinder (22) to be on standby in the initial status. Since the process for forming a groove of the headrest stay (4) is simple, the work time is reduced and the production volume can be increased. Since the groove is not formed by cutting but by pressurizing, no chips are scattered and the work can be facilitated. |
