A hydraulic rotary machine rotated and operated by an operating fluid supplied thereto and discharged therefrom comprises: a cylinder block to which a shaft is connected and which rotates together with the shaft; cylinders which are formed in the cylinder block so as to be open at one end of the cylinder block and which have annular grooves in the inner peripheries thereof; and bushes which are provided within the cylinders by being inserted into the cylinders from the openings thereof and which have protrusions plastically deformed and filled into the annular grooves. Each of the annular grooves is formed in such a manner that the width thereof in the axial direction of the cylinder decreases in the depth direction of the groove.
