PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb or reflect electromagnetic waves coming from the outside with the use of plasma.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic wave shielding device comprises: an antenna 1 which radiates radio waves; a coil 2 which is arranged so that its axial direction coincides with a radio wave radiation direction of the antenna 1, and which generates a magnetic field when it is supplied with a current; a power source 3 which is connected to the coil 2 via a conducting wire 5 so as to supply the current to the coil 2; and a dielectric vessel 4 which is arranged in the radio wave radiation direction of the antenna 1 and is filled with gas 41. The number of turns of the coil 2 and a value of the current supplied by the power source 3 are set such that a relation between a frequency of radio waves radiated by the antenna 1 and the magnetic field generated by the coil 2 meets an electron cyclotron resonance condition.
