Provided is green sand for use in casting of steel castings, comprising a casting sand that includes sand, a binder, and a carbon component in an amount of 3 mass parts or less per 100 mass parts of sand, in which a lining layer of a thermosetting resin is formed in a recess that includes at least a cavity for casting of a steel casting, the lining layer having average hardness (measured with a self-hardening hardness tester) of 50-95, and thickness of 0.5-2.5 mm. |
