PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly-reliable semiconductor light-emitting element.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, there is provided a semiconductor light-emitting element including a first semiconductor layer of a first conductivity type, a second semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type, a light-emitting layer, a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, an insulating layer, a substrate, and a first metal layer. The light-emitting layer is provided between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer. The first electrode layer is provided on a part of the second semiconductor layer on the side opposite to the side on which the light-emitting layer is provided. The second electrode layer is provided on a part of the first semiconductor layer on the same side as the side on which the light-emitting layer is provided. The insulating layer covers the first electrode layer, and is provided between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. The first metal layer is formed between the substrate and the insulating layer and the second electrode layer. The second electrode layer includes a first portion in contact with the first semiconductor layer and a second portion formed at intervals with the first semiconductor layer in the region whose circumference is surrounded by the insulating layer. |
