The invention relates to a camera system (2) of a driver-assistance system, comprising a camera module (14) with a lens (14b), a housing (4) that has a first and a second housing part (6, 8) both made of sheet metal and both having an edge region (6a, 8a), and a printed circuit board (26) arranged in said housing (4), at least the first housing part (6) being a deep-drawn part, and said first and second housing parts (6, 8) being interconnected in their edge regions (6a, 8a) for the purpose of closing the housing (4). The invention also relates to a method for producing a camera system (2) of a driver-assistance system, comprising a camera module (14) with a lens (14b), a housing (4), and a printed circuit board (26) arranged therein, and comprising the following steps: providing a first housing part (6) which is made of sheet metal in the form of a deep-drawn part and which has an edge region (6a), and providing a second housing part (8) which is made from sheet metal and has an edge region (8a), characterised in that said two housing parts (6, 8) are interconnected in their edge regions (6a, 8a) in order to close the housing (4).
