Thermoformable melamine/formaldehyde foam comprises 0.1-50 wt.% of at least one particulate filler material having a melting point of at most 220[deg] C, where a weight percentage of used melamine-formaldehyde precondensate and a filling material is based on the total weight of the foam produced. An independent claim is included for producing the thermoformable melamine/formaldehyde, comprising foaming and drying the melamine-formaldehyde precondensate in a solvent with an acid, a dispersant, a blowing agent and the particulate filler material at temperatures above the boiling point of the blowing agent and then annealing at a temperature of above 200[deg] C.
