摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma enhanced rapidly expanded gas turbine engine transition duct. <P>SOLUTION: The plasma enhanced rapidly expanded duct system (11) comprises a gas turbine-to-engine turbine transition duct (114) including conical inner and outer duct walls (60 and 62) disposed through a space in an axially extending radial direction between a duct inlet (64) and a duct outlet (66). A conical plasma generator (2) generates conical plasma (90) along the outer duct wall (62). A typical embodiment of the conical plasma generator (2) comprises radially inside and outside electrodes (3 and 4) mounted to the outer duct wall (62) and separated by a dielectric material (5). The dielectric material (5) is disposed in a conical groove (6) at the radially inward surface (7) of the outer duct wall (62).
