PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that, when interference waves for which contents of a program are different from desired waves mix in the antenna of a relay station which receives the desired waves (ISDB-T signals) originated from a high order station, the interference waves suppress the desired waves and the signals of the contents different from the program to be broadcasted originally are sent out of the relay station. SOLUTION: This squelch apparatus is provided in the relay station. The squelch apparatus extracts network identification information and/or prescribed squelch identification information from the ISDB-T signals sent out of a high order station. Then, between the extracted identification information and the identification information provided beforehand, whether or not at least the information of region identification and regional operator identification included in the identification information matches is compared.
