PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow cylindrical support for a printing base material which not only can prevent a dent from being generated during attaching the support to or detaching it from a plate cylinder but also can simply allow registering of the position of the support to the plate cylinder. SOLUTION: This hollow cylindrical support for the printing base material is manufactured by welding together both end parts of a metallic sheet molded in a cylindrical shape. A projecting part is formed at least on a part, on the inside surface, of the welding part of the metallic hollow cylinder, and a resin cured product layer with not less than 50μm to not more than 20 mm in thickness, is laminated on the outside surface of the metallic cylinder.
