PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery-connecting member capable of reducing connection resistance and improving connection strength when used as a lead terminal or a lower current collector of the battery while made to have an inexpensive constitution obtained only by carrying out simple changes of a shape. SOLUTION: The battery is equipped with the upper current collector composed of a flat plate connected to the upper part and the lower part of an electrode plate group consisting of a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and a separator, a bottomed case inside which the lower current collector and an electrolytic solution are housed, a sealing plate for tightly sealing the upper part of this bottomed case, and the lead terminal 1 for electrically connects this sealing plate and the upper current collector. At a welding part of the lead terminal 1 and the sealing plate, or the lead terminal 1 and the upper current collector, first step projections 7a, 9a with flat and large welding face are installed, and in these first step projections, one or more second step projections 7b, 9b with small welding face are installed.
