PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a state detector of a vehicle for accurately detecting the state of a vehicle without requiring high accuracy when a tilt sensor is attached to the vehicle. SOLUTION: This state detector comprises the tilt sensor for outputting values (output values VXG and VYG) indicating a tilting state of the horizontal surface defined by the X-axis and Y-axis of the vehicle with respect to the vertical axis. The state detector calculates a vector composition value ANGVCTR of the values indicating the tilting state of the horizontal surface defined by the X-axis and Y-axis of the vehicle with respect to the vertical axis output from the tilt sensor (S300-S332), and detects a state of the vehicle based on the calculated vector composition value ANGVCTR, specifically an abnormal state such as falling or collision of the vehicle.
