PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus which can satisfy shortened warm-up time, proper fixability, and a long life time, using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A roller member includes a cylindrical core bar 22, and the roller member is rotatably supported at both ends and forms a nip, to which a recording medium is conveyed, by making a contact abut against another member. The core bar satisfies the relation 1.0≤ΔD/D1×100≤3.0, where D1 is the outside diameter of the core bar in millimeters, andΔD is the outside diameter deformed volume in the transport direction in millimeters.
