PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire in which a coefficient of the thermal contraction of a cord material of a sub-belt layer is larger than that of a cord material of a main belt layer, and the durability of a belt is effectively enhanced. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire comprises a carcass 1 toroidally extending between a pair of bead cores, a main belt 2 composed of a plurality of main belt layers 2a-2d arranged on the outer circumferential side of a crown area of the carcass 1, and a sub-belt 3 composed of one or more sub belt layers 3a arranged on the further outer circumferential side of the main belt 2. The main belt layers 2a-2d are formed of an annular winding structure of an aromatic polyamide cord, and the sub-belt layer 3a is formed of an aliphatic polyamide cord extending across the aromatic polyamide cord.
