<p>An abnormality in an analyzer is determined by, among analytical procedures to be practiced on a specimen, deleting analytical procedures other than the procedure for examining the abnormality, and determining the abnormality based on measurement data obtained by the analytical procedure for determining the abnormality and a reaction between a subject for determining the abnormality or a definite reagent with a definite reactant. Thus, the abnormality in the analyzer can be accurately and conveniently determined. By using a liquid-pouring mechanism, a definite amount of the subject for determining the abnormality or a definite amount of the reagent is poured into a reactor. Then, a reactant, which reacts with the subject for determining the abnormality or the reagent to thereby make the subject for determining the abnormality or the reagent to exhibit a definite optical character, is poured into the reactor. In the case where the measurement data obtained by optically measuring the liquid reaction mixture in the container does not fall within the acceptable range that has been preliminarily determined under the normal operation of the analyzer, it is determined that the subject for determining the abnormality or the liquid-pouring mechanism is abnormal.</p> |
