A display panel assembly is provided to form retardation coating films including LC on polarizing plates, thereby reducing the whole thickness and manufacturing costs of the display panel assembly. A display panel(100) comprises a first substrate(110), a second substrate(120) facing the first substrate, and an LC(Liquid Crystal) layer(130) interposed between the first and second substrates. A first polarizing unit(200) is disposed in a lower part of the display panel, and includes a first polarizing plate(210) for polarizing light in a first direction, and a first retardation coating film(220) formed in one side of the first polarizing plate to retard light. A second polarizing unit(300) is disposed in an upper part of the display panel, and includes a second polarizing plate(310) for polarizing light in a second direction, and a second retardation coating film(320) formed in one side of the second polarizing plate to retard light. At least one of the first and second retardation coating films is an LC coating film. |
