DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE ENLARGED APPARENT SIZE AND METHODS FOR ENLARGING THE APPARENT SIZE OF THE DISPLAY PANEL

A display device having a display panel with an enlarged apparent size and a method for enlarging an apparent size of a display panel are provided to allow a user not to sense the separation between a display panel and its peripheral frames, thereby perceiving an enlarged size of screen. An input unit(300) receives image information. An analyzing unit(310) analyzes brightness information and color information of the image information. A controller(320) calculates brightness and color values of frames changing without causing a separation sense by using the analyzed brightness information and color information. A frame light emitting body(340) is formed at the frames and change brightness and color of the frames. A driving unit(330) blinks the frame light emitting body according to the brightness and color values calculated by the controller. The controller calculates the brightness value of the frames changing such that it darkens as it goes from the display panel to the frames according to sensitivity of the users' eyes.
