A connector for preventing the breakage of a lance is provided to prevent the lance from being broken when a jig is inserted for separation between the lance and a terminal, by catching the jig on the lance so that a user easily recognizes a portion of the lance, which is to be pressed. A connector comprises a terminal connected to a wire, and a housing(1) into which the terminal is inserted. The housing includes a housing space for housing the terminal therein, and a lance(3) formed on an inside surface of the housing space. The terminal has a catching protrusion(4) on which the lance is caught. The lance includes a pressed portion(5) and a caught portion(6). The pressed portion of the lance is pressed by a releasing element, thereby separating the lance from the catching protrusion. The caught portion of the lance is caught on the catching protrusion of the terminal, thereby supporting the terminal. A catching groove for operation of the releasing element is formed in an end of the pressed portion.
