A thread and a forgery preventing form which satisfy the conditions that, when a thread micro letter is to be observed from one side and the opposite side of a form or a printed matter, the micro letter can be recognized in the same direction from either side without being reversed or inverted from each other or the micro letter cannot be recognized when observed from the opposite side. A thread (1), comprising metallized layers (3, 4) formed in a pattern form consisting of micro letters and colored resin printed layers (7, 8) respectively formed on the first layers that are formed on the opposite surfaces of a stripe-form and translucent substrate (2), is set integrally between paper layers (15a, 15b) to form a forgery preventing form (10) and a forgery preventing printed matter. ® KIPO & WIPO 2008
