Method and system for transmission of confidential and non-confidential data

The method involves differently marking confidential and non-confidential data records and transmitting the differently marked records over a data distributing unit (2) i.e. switch, from input units to respective output units. A preset direct current voltage is supplied either to the confidential records or the non-confidential records provided in the respective input units. The records that are supplied with the signal are transmitted to the assigned output units over the distributing unit. The records are coded according to high density bipolar of order 3 (HDB3) code. An independent claim is also included for a data carrier storing a program for executing a method for transmission of confidential and non-confidential data records between input units and output units of a communication system.
