PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which has a simple configuration, is short in an optical axis direction in a housed state, and can smoothly be housed. SOLUTION: The lens barrel 1A has a first group frame, a second group frame, a shutter frame 9, and a third group frame 10, and a fourth group frame 13. They are driven so as to advance or retract by rotating or advancing or retracting a rotation frame from a collapsed position to a photographing position. In a collapsed state, the third group frame 10 is rotated from the insert position of a photographing optical path to a retract position by a retraction cam. However, during the retracting rotation of the third group frame 10, the shutter frame 9 is kept apart from the third group frame 10, and the shutter frame 9 is moved close to the third group frame 10 after the retraction, thereby facilitating the retraction of the third group frame 10. The second group lens, shutter blades, and the fourth group lens are housed into the retracting space of the third group frame 10, thereby shortening the length of the lens barrel 1A.
