An automatic door lock control apparatus of a vehicle and a method are provided to operate a door lock automatically by sensing the weight when children and infants get on the vehicle and separately operating only the corresponding seats. An automatic door lock control apparatus of a vehicle is composed of a ignition switch(4) sensing the starting state of the vehicle; a door lock locking switch(8) manually operating a door lock of the vehicle; door lock solenoids(12a,12b,12c) installed at a vehicle door to lock the door lock; driving units(14a,14b,14c) driving the door lock solenoid; weight sensors(28a,28b,28c) installed at a passenger's seat of front seats and the rear seats of the vehicle to sense the weight of passengers; a data storing unit(24) storing reference vehicle speed and reference weight data; and a control unit(26) receiving the weight data of passengers from each weight sensor while a start signal is received from the ignition switch, and comparing the weight data and reference weight data. The control unit determines that children and infants get on the vehicle if the weight data smaller than the reference weight data is transmitted, and locks the door lock of the corresponding position.
