<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a semiconductor memory card system for communicating information to warn a user of host equipment that the semiconductor memory card comes close to the end of its life in a system including the host equipment mounted with the semiconductor memory card. <P>SOLUTION: The method of controlling the semiconductor memory card system is provided with the steps of: creating life index data of the semiconductor memory in response to a command to the semiconductor memory card from the host equipment; creating a life warning status of the semiconductor memory card system on the basis of life management standard from the life index data; and using the same communication line as the command to send a response incorporating the life warning status to the host equipment as a response to the command. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
