<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that while a data transmission clock is supplied by means of, for example, a small amplitude differential signal to each of driver ICs for LED elements in a drive device in which the driver ICs are coupled in a cascade fashion and transmission of data is carried out via shift registers in the driver ICs, as a characteristic impedance of a connecting cable for transmitting the clock to an LED head from a printing control section cannot be arbitrary set, the characteristic impedance is not matched with that of an LED head substrate to result in occurrence of reflection of the signal, and a signal reflection wave and a signal transition timing are overlapped with each other to cause an erroneous operation. <P>SOLUTION: This drive device comprises a clock wire 252 and a bonding wire 255 connected to the plurality of driver ICs 101 in common, a connector 253 to which the connecting cable having a characteristic impedance and being adapted to transmit a signal to the clock wire 252, and input resistors 424, 43 to be connected between the connector 253 and the clock wire 252, and then alignment of the impedance is carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
