PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: a concentration of recording pixels in a recording width direction in a line printer makes a voltage drop increase in size due to a growth in the maximum electric current passing through an electrode and a wiring pattern inside a linehead, thereby causing an accidental failure of the linehead and degrading its durability performance in addition to effects on a recorded image quality. SOLUTION: A number of recording heads are assigned to share the recording of a line of an image 1 in the recording width direction, and the parts which the recording heads are assigned are to change for every line, the maximum electric current possibly generated inside the linehead can be reduced, so that the stress on the head is significantly reduced to keep durability performance and reliability of the head improved by large.
