The invention relates to a method for applying a preferably reclosable opening/pouring element to a container, particularly a cardboard/plastic composite packaging for beverages. To this end, one area of the container is provided in the form of a weakened area or pouring opening by the provision of perforations or the like, and the container is firstly provided with at least one opening in the area of the weakened area or pouring opening. Due to the fact that the exact positioning of an opening/pouring element with regard to the subsequent pouring opening can only be achieved with a very high amount of effort, the invention provides that in order to obtain a connection between the opening/pouring element and the container that fits with accuracy and is reliably tight, the opening/pouring element provided with at least one downwardly projecting rivet is placed above the weakened zone, each rivet extends through the corresponding opening, is melted by means of ultrasound riveting and is welded to the container in such a manner that an undercut results behind the container material, whereby the riveting material fuses tightly with the container material. |
