<p>The device has contact-less measuring unit (10) for measuring a tool (12) and also a sensor unit (14) that comprises a movably supported sensor. The sensor unit is provided for contacting the tool and for measuring measurement variables by the measuring unit. The sensor is movably supported in different directions (18a, 18b, 20a, 20b, 22a, 22b), and an evaluation unit (82) is provided for allowing a measure (28) of the sensor unit in a partially automated manner during evaluation.
