<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, having easy maintenance capable of forming an image of high quality by always having a photoreceptor drum made to rotate at constant velocity. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms an image, by having an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor drum 1 by an exposure means 4, having a toner image provided, by having toner supplied to the electrostatic latent image from a developing machine 5, and then having the toner image transferred to transfer material A by a transfer charge machine. The image forming apparatus prevents shrinking in the electrostatic image or the image to be transferred to the transfer material A, by having the photoreceptor drum 1 rotated at a constant velocity, even when the relative misalignment or inclination exist in a drum shaft 1a of the photoreceptor drum 1 and a driving shaft 2a of a driving motor 2, by having the drum shaft 1a and the driving shaft 2a connected by a constant-velocity joint J.
