<p>An absorbent breast pad having elastic stretchable members attached to those sides of side flaps of the breast pad that are in contact with the wearer's skin, wherein, in order to avoid the breast pad from causing discomfort to the wearer, the breast pad is adapted so that gathers formed on the stretchable members by their contraction are formed not on the entire portions of the side flaps. Each side flap (15) of the breast pad has a first portion (5a) located on the skin contact side and a second portion (12b) located on the side not coming into contact with the skin. The elastic stretchable member (13) is installed along the outer edge of the second portion (12b).</p>
