PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel capable of preventing the slip-off of an inner ring in an assembling process to a vehicle and facilitating caulking work with no risk of breaking the inner ring caused by caulking work. SOLUTION: The bearing device for the wheel has balls 5 interposed between an outer member 1 and an inner member 2. The inner member 2 comprises a hub wheel 9 having a wheel mounting flange 9b at the outer periphery of an outboard side end and having a through hole 11 in the center, and the inner ring 10 fitted to an inner ring fitting part 15 of a stepped shape provided at the outer periphery of the inboard side of the hub wheel 9. The inner peripheral edge of the inboard side end face 10a of the inner ring 10 has a stepped part 16, and the inboard side end of the hub wheel 9 has a caulking part 9c engaged with a step face 16a facing the axial direction of the stepped part 16 of the inner ring 10. The caulking part 9c of the hub wheel 9 is plastically deformed in a diameter-enlarged state of the whole periphery by the swing press working of sequentially pressing a cylindrical part of the inboard side end of the hub wheel 9 from the inner peripheral side portion by portion in the circumferential direction to enlarge the diameter.
