The actuator (1) has a tubular housing (4) with two ends, an outward directed external wall (5) and an inward directed inner wall (6), and a head plate (7), which closes one of the ends of the tubular housing. A piezoelectric deck (9) is arranged in the housing, and is arranged with both ends of the head plate. A cooling body (20) is directly connected with the head plate by a cooling body support. Another cooling bodies project over the outward directed external wall of the tubular housing. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a piezoelectric actuator.
