A flat panel display device is provided to efficiently prevent moisture and light from permeating a driving IC(Integrated Circuit) by forming a protection layer on the driving IC mounted on a display panel. A flat panel display device comprises at least one or more display panels, a driving IC(2) and a protection layer(3). The driving IC is installed on the display panel through a COG(Chip On Glass) in order to drive the display panel. The protection layer blocks external light, irradiated to the driving IC, and moisture. A light transmittance of the protection layer is less than 0.05%. The projection layer is black.
