PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a straight asphalt which can prevent smoke or odor from occurring during construction work such as waterproofing work, is improved in the creep property associated with the displacement or sagging thereof and exhibits good form retention capability in a practical temperature range. SOLUTION: An improved asphalt being usable at a low temperature is provided by adding wax having a high softening point to straight asphalt, and by melting the asphalt in the temperature range less than 200°C, which is the temperature range in which heated asphalt hardly causes smoke or odor. The improved asphalt has a softening point of 70°C or higher and a sagging length in accordance with JIS2207 standards of less than 8 mm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
