PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head in which bad influence affecting to a floating property can be suppressed, while extent of damage given to a surface of a magnetic disk can be suppressed even if it conflicts to the surface of the magnetic disk, and a magnetic disk device provided with the magnetic head. SOLUTION: In the magnetic head, a front rail 31 is formed at an air flow-in end 30LD side in a medium opposite plane 30a of a head slider 30, a side rail 31 extended to an air flow-out end 30TR side, a linear center rail 33 at an almost center of a width direction of the head slider 30 at the air flow-out end 30TR side, and a rear side rail 34 at the side of the above are formed at width direction both sides 30SD1, 30SD2 of the front rail 31. The air flow-in end 30LD and the air flow-out end 30TR are provided at a surface of a side edge part 35SD of groove parts 35 of width direction both sides of the medium opposite plane 30a, and buffering pads 36a, 36b. 36c consisting of carbon films are provided at the vicinity of the center between the air flow-in end 30LD and air flow-out end 30TR.
