PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear pump including a modified shut in prevention hole not directly receiving jet of shut in liquid. SOLUTION: In the gear pump 10 having gears 16, 20 mutually meshing and rotating in a reverse direction arranged in a housing 11, and having shut in prevention holes 30, 31, 35, and 36 for preventing liquid from being shut in a gear meshing part formed on side plates provided with sliding on a side surface of the both gears 16, 20, at least an inner wall surfaces near a contact point F side of pitch circles c1, c2 of both gears 16, 20 of inner wall surfaces of the shut in prevention holes 30, 35 in a delivery chamber 27 side is formed by inclined surfaces 30c, 35c opposing to both gears 16, 20, and the inclined surfaces 30c, 35c are inclined surfaces inclined toward the delivery chamber 7 from the contact point F side.
