PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gelling agent bonded with fullerene having electronic characteristics, by improving a conventional 3,4,5-long chain alkyloxybenzamide derivative gelling agent, and to provide a gel using the agent as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: A benzamide derivative represented by formula (1) is provided. Wherein, R is a partial structure containing a structure derived from fullerene; A is an amide bond of NHCO (when the terminal of the parent compound of R is a primary amine), NCO (when the terminal of the parent compound of R is a secondary amine) or CONH (when the terminal of the parent compound of R is a carboxylic acid); B is an amide bond of NHCO or CONH; m is an integer of 1-6; and n is an integer of 1-6.
