PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking apparatus which can be placed in a narrow space with a cover openable/closable by a spring made of a spring material hardly cousing fatigue. SOLUTION: A cooking apparatus is provided with a cooking apparatus body with an opening open upwards and a cover which closes the opening of the cooking apparatus body. A cover arm 5 which supports the cover in a cantilevered manner is supported in a turnable manner by a turning shaft 27 with bulkheads 22, 23 on an arm base 21 side as bearings. A spiral spring 41 is fitted into the turning shaft 27 and its outer end is engaged with an engaging bolt 31 on a case 48 side.
