PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a localization system of a hydraulic pressure cylinder with reduced wearing by improvement of surface characteristics of a piston rod and thereby with a prolonged service life. SOLUTION: The system includes at least one sensor, one magnet and the piston rod. The piston rod includes a metal core of high magnetic susceptibility and an approximately axial groove structure. Metal with magnetic susceptibility lower than that of the core is embedded in the groove structure. The sensor can measure the varying magnetic field of the core by the groove structure, to determine both the relative position and the absolute position of the piston rod.
