PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door ajar condition detector which can be equipped with an automobile while an opening width of an entrance is not reduced. SOLUTION: A first wall part 45 is formed in a door opening part 12 of a vehicle body 11. A second wall part 55 facing the first wall part 45 is formed in a door 14. A door ajar detector 20 comprises a switch 71 for detecting a door ajar condition stored inside the second wall part 55, a lever member 72 for expanding the operational stroke of the switch 71, a switch cover 110, a hole 120 formed in the switch cover 110, and an operational projection 70 mounted on the first wall 45. The hole 120 is formed at the position facing the lever member 72 from the outer side of the vehicle body 11. The operational projection 70 is mounted at the position corresponding to the lever member 72, and advanced inside the hole 120 when the door 14 is at a closed position.
