<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can highly accurately detect the speed fluctuation pattern of a photoreceptor without the need to perform intricate arithmetic operations for synchronizing speed data in each round of the photoreceptor with each other and the need to use an expensive and highly responsive rotating angle detecting means. <P>SOLUTION: The control to detect the speed patterns of the photoreceptors 3Y, C, M, K is implemented based on detection result by l35Y, C, M, K position sensors and on result obtained by subjecting detection result by an optical sensor unit 136 to orthogonal detection processing. Even if the speed data based on the detection timing of each batch toner image in each round of the photoreceptor is at the point where the data do not synchronize with each other in the orthogonal detection processing, the photoreceptor non-dependent fluctuation component can be removed without correcting the data to the value at the point of the time at which the data are synchronized with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
