PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that amount of data cannot be reduced remarkably even when a color conversion LUT is compressed in direct. SOLUTION: Drastic data amount reduction of the color conversion LUT can be attained utilizing any of difference in lattice point values of the color conversion LUT in three-axis directions, difference between an interpolation value of LUT reduced through curtailment and the original lattice point value, and difference among a couple of LUTs having similarity, or a couple of differences combined among these three differences. Particularly, a compression ratio when many LUTs are available can be improved to a large extent with combination of differences among LUTs and the other differences. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
