PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output a high quality image by appropriately correcting image data in accordance with the featured value of the image, regardless of the color space of the image data. SOLUTION: When the image data are received, the color space is converted into a standard color space and subsequently, the featured vale is extracted. Next, the image data are converted referring to a correction table generated in accordance with the featured value into a color space for outputting an image, and subsequently, the image is output. Thus, a proper correction table is generated on the basis of the featured value extracted in the standard color space regardless of the color space of the image data, and the image data are appropriately corrected and a high quality image can be output.
