PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing lactic acid with a high fermenting yield by using Lactobacillus. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing lactic acid by culturing Lactobacillus comprises a first culturing stage culturing the Lactobacillus in a culture medium without regulating pH of the medium for 12-36 hours after starting the cultivation of the Lactobacillus; and a second culturing stage culturing the medium after the first culturing stage for 24-120 hours regulating the pH of the medium at 4.5-7.5.
