PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for feeding a weft yarn, capable of directly using a large size tape-formed yarn-feeding body such as a carbon fiber, etc., as the weft yarn of a loom, eliminating the labor for splitting the yarn-feeding body as a small size to improve working efficiency and capable of being used in a high speed loom such as a jet loom by the small-sizing of a storage part and high-speeding of the yarn delivery. SOLUTION: This method for feeding the weft yarn is provided by using a servomotor responding in a high speed as the motor of controlling the driving part for delivering the weft yarn from the yarn-feeding body, and for sending a weft yarn length of 1 pick against the one rotation of the loom accurately in a high speed by a synchronous ratio operation of the motor with an encoder for detecting the rotation of the loom. Also, a method for controlling the change of wound diameter of the yarn-feeding body with the data of the yarn-feeding body, a storage length in the storage part or a signal by a weft yarn tip end detection feeler installed together with a weft yarn feeler is provided. As for the storage part, the storage operation is performed only in a weft yarn insertion-stopping interval in the sending out period of 1 pick, and the weft yarn insertion is stabilized by shortening the storage length as much as possible.
