A washing machine and a method for washing a detergent supply tool are provided to improve the convenience for use of the washing machine by simply performing a washing operation of the detergent supply tool. A washing machine includes a washing tub, a detergent supply tool, and a steam generator(40). The washing tub is installed in the interior of a cabinet(2) and includes a water supply passage and a water discharge passage. The detergent supply tool is installed on one side of the water supply passage to supply a detergent to the washing tub. A water supply opening is connected to the other side of the water supply passage to supply steam water. A steam discharge opening(54) is connected to the detergent supply tool and the washing tub to supply steam. |
